What is Backlit Trans? Backlit transparency prints are images printed on special translucent film using inkjet printing technology. These images basically have the same appearance as a normal image printed on paper, but when backlit by natural or artificial light these prints can appear to glow. Some images look much better than others when printed on this type of media, so careful selection of artwork for Backlit Trans is very important. Transparent film artwork can be used without artificial lighting by being sandwiched between layers of glass and hung in a window, not unlike the concept of stained glass. And at night these images will not look much different from being printed on paper. But in daylight they have the similar appearance as being lighted by a light-box.
